Christmas is coming....
Wow! Where has the year gone? Like most people we are crazy this time of year. The early frigid weather hasn't helped either! But everyone is safely tucked in the barn and I am inside finally getting to do some work on the website. That won't last too long with tax time coming up! But we currently have one stall available and some horses for lease. Be sure to give some lessons for Christmas! My husband is home so I am getting off here.

Busy, busy...
Getting ready for the Sunday show. Will be very glad to see show season end this year. Finally having to break down and blanket the horses. It is going down in the 30's tonight. Noon found a new home at River Birch Farms. He is doing great and they love him. We miss him, but the feed bill doesn't! I might actually get to show Troy myself at the November 7th show. Unless a plague of locusts or something else goes wrong! Getting ready to head out for blanketting! Wish me luck!

Show prep and more...
Well, we are running around like chickens with our heads cut off preparing for the show this weekend. Our awesome farrier team of Rich & Kelly Harrington came out to trim and shoe the horses. Rob came out and leveled the ring. And of course, LJ helped everyone! All the horses were good, except Indy, who was just full of himself today! Stacy is coming down to show Troy on Sunday and we are excited to see them together again! Come out and see us on Sunday!

Time sure does fly...
Time flies when you are so busy! Shortly after my last post I got word about an OTTB on the feedlot in NJ, bound for slaughter. Fast forward through one marathon trip after some awesome fundraising by The Second Race in CA and we brought "Indy" aka Happy Mother's Day back to VA for some quarantine and then his new home. Indy is very sweet but has a VERY young mind, so sometimes he acts more like a 2 year old than a 5 year old! But he has a good heart, and a banged up ankle that we are hoping for some miracles on! Apparently he was hurt on the track and they continued to race him. But he has settled in nicely and is doing well!

So now three OTTBs in progress.
Also one of my OTTB boarders is for sale, so we are trying to find him a forever home! will post pics and info later!

Unloaded a huge load of shavings today, so I am beat, but i will be back tomorrow to fix the website and add pictures!
Good night all!

New things on the horizon...

As you can see I am totally revamping the website. It is taking longer than I anticipated but I hope the result will be worth the work!

In regards to horses we currently have two OTTBs working.

Troy has finally gotten his shoes back on after pulling a shoe and having an abcess. He is looking great (pics to come soon) and we are looking forward to showing him again soon! After almost 2 years of rehab he is now turning into a stunning horse!

Bo, our most recent OTTB, is finally putting on weight and has proven himself to be a very willing jumper. He is sound, but moves short so we are going to try some supplements to see if them help him move out a little. I have been plesantly surprised by him and look forward to finding out what more he can do!

Stacy has been invaluble in working these guys and we will miss her so much when she goes away to college!

Expansion plans are on temporary hold as we wait for the housing market to rebound a little more. I am currently looking to rent a small (cheap) barn nearby to use as a quarantine barn for any new OTTBs coming in.  If anyone knows of one, please let me know! We are still trying to help as many as we possibly can!

Talk to you soon! Keep striving for the winner's circle!
